*Sunrise over Talos finds our little heroine sitting at a small cafe table on her balcony, sipping gourmet coffee and poring over some catalogues. A soft footfall behind her makes her look up to see her eldest son. She motions towards the chair opposite her.*
DawL: "Good morning, Zakai."
Zakai: *kisses her on her cheek* "Good morning, mother. What are you doing up so early? Or have you not yet slept."
DawL: "I slept, if you can call it that. It was a rather fitful sleep. Anyway, I have lots to do."
Zakai: *blinks and gives his mother a startled look* "I thought you were only working part time now? Just doing an occasional 'on call' mission?"
DawL: "Oh this has nothing to do with work. I am planning a baby shower for Az."
Zakai: *nods politely as he plans his retreat* "I have an assignment in Perez Park this morning. I had best be heading out."
DawL: *laughs* "Don't worry. I am not going to try to recruit you into such a 'girly' activity. I just need to finish decorating. I already have the gifts bought, wrapped, and hidden. I am just going over the guest list."
Zakai: *smiles* "Have fun. I have picked out some lovely dresses for the baby."
DawL: "If you want to put them in the storage closet in the den, behind the camping gear, that is where I hid mine. I can make sure she gets them at the party."
Zakai: "Thank you mother. Have fun planning the party."
*With a grin he nods his head slightly and moprhs into a flash of bright, explosive energy, which quickly re-forms into the squid-like Nova. His mother smiles and mouths the words "Be careful!" as he gracefully flies off towards their base and the teleportation pad that will transport him to the woods of Perez Park.*
*DawL turns her attention back to the catalogs and to the sheet of paper as she picks up a pen and begins to slowly scribe a list of names.* |
